I finally got around to updating my Champuru Videos and Bon Dance Archive pages.

Observant visitors will notice that I changed the format of my site somewhat and incorporated some new elements, one of which is the new Bite-sized! Champuru Microblog on the right sidebar. This is where I’ll post links back to my Vox blog where I answer the fun little QOTD (questions of the day) and occasionally a Vox Hunt or two. I’ll also post quick notes, like what I’m reading, doing, or thinking. Kind of like Twitter, but different.
I’m still exploring more enhancements to the site, while I make use of every last second of my time off before my return to work next week. T-minus 7 days and counting…

I’ve created a new blog at DaScoops.com, geared to providing the “inside scoops” on fun things to do in Hawaii. I plan to post image-intense entries about my culinary adventures, sights I visit, as well as announcements about upcoming events. One of the primary reasons for the site is to develop my photography and writing skills while building a guide about what makes Hawaii a great place to live and visit.
Still, as small as we always say Hawaii is, I couldn’t possibly cover it all by myself. I’m always looking for others to partner with me in this effort, so if you’d like to contribute to DaScoops.com, please drop me a line and I’ll set you up with a username and password.
Check it out, I’ve already posted a few entries and there’s also a heads up on two great events scheduled for this Sunday. It’s a small start, but it’s a start.

Somehow, it seems that my bottom is less tolerant to sitting for extended periods now.
I decided to spend some time on the computer today, in lieu of lying in bed all day. Hubby needed to catch up on his zzz’s, so I thought I would give him some uninterrupted time of rest. So, I aimlessly surfed the web, watched Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth”, updated my WordPress installations to ver 2.1.3 and subsequently broke one of them. I had updated 3 others previously without a hitch, but I knew I was pressing my luck with this one.
And wouldn’t you know it, when I tried to restore the databases, it errored out. Now, it’s displaying:
WordPress database error: [Unknown column 'user_level' in 'where clause']
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM main_users WHERE user_level > 1
Unless anyone knows what to do to resolve this error, I guess I’ll have to try and figure it out later. Right now, I’m tuckered out — and my butt hurts.

Vox is so fun. It makes blogging effortless and the cool factor is definitely there. I’ll be posting entries on vox more frequently; at the very least, to participate in those nifty QotD (question of the day) and Vox Hunts.
Got vox? Add me to your neighborhood! Want to be my neighbor? Let me know!

To call this site neglected would be an understatement. Tonight, on a whim, I decided to login to the admin panel. There, I found 200+ unmoderated comments. I figured that it was simply comment spam about ringtones and viagra. I almost jumped straight to the bottom and clicked “Mark all as Spam,” but decided to browse through to see if I could find any gems amongst the trash. To my surprise, I did find about a dozen old comments that had been sitting there in the moderation queue, collecting dust, waiting for me to click “Approve.”
Thanks to those of you who took the time to comment. And here I thought that no one was reading my site anymore. I feel so loved now. ![]()

I’ve started going through my old photos and will be posting them little by little to my Flickr account, mainly for archival purposes but also for the nostalgia factor. I’m presently on the Japan series and will be there for a while as I linger and yearn for another opportunity to return.
