Eight adults, seven children, one beach house, three tents, three days, two nights = ONE absolutely wonderful time. We spent the past few days with our friends at their company’s beach house, communing with nature and giving the children (and adults) an experience to remember.

Despite living in a place with some of the most beautiful beaches on earth, we rarely ever venture toward the ocean. We live in the middle of the island and mostly stay there, content to be landlubbers, but our time at the beach house reminded me that nature is something to be experienced and enjoyed. If not for myself, definitely for Lil’ K. Seeing the complete abandon and utter bliss on our children’s faces made it all worthwhile.

Lil’ K got to experience many firsts on this camping trip:
- Camping outside in a tent.
- Sleeping in a sleeping bag.
- Seeing a sand crab scampering across the sand at lightning speed.
- Chasing a chicken who was a persistent (yet unwanted) visitor in our outdoor eating area.
- Camp fire, s’mores!
- Swinging on a makeshift swing tied to a tree.

Who is Champuru?
Aloha, I'm Donna, known everywhere on the Internet as "Champuru." I was born and raised in Hawaii. I'm a Christian. I'm married to my best friend of 18 years, we struggled with infertility and successfully conceived via IVF (and by the grace of God!) in 2008. I resigned from my coveted "secure" government job to be a work-at-home mom to my 3-year-old daughter. Using my degree in Information Technology and the skills obtained in the marketplace, I started my own business. Now, I work from home, taking clients on a part-time basis, working in my PJ's while the little one sleeps. Life isn't always easy, but it's all good.
