I’m not sure what it is, but lately, I have been so tired. Exhausted even. Turning in at 9:30 or 10 pm is not uncommon these days. Today, I even took an afternoon nap with Lil’ K. She climbed into bed with me and we slumbered peacefully for two hours. This is highly unusual for me, as I despise napping (I feel like I’m wasting valuable time!) and I often wake up with a headache. However, my eyelids weighed a ton and I couldn’t stop the sleep monster from steamrolling me this afternoon. I think I fell asleep before my 3-year-old did.
At 4:00 sharp, Lil’ K woke up with all pistons firing. As for me, my gas tank was still running on empty. She rolled over and said, “mama, can we wake up now?’
“Okay…” I said and proceeded to roll over and fall back asleep.
“COCK-A-DOODLE-DOOOOOO!!!” she called at the top of her lungs, leaning over into my face, her nose practically touching mine.
If you think your alarm clock is a rude awakening, you ought to try a rooster in a toddler suit. Good times.

Who is Champuru?
Aloha, I'm Donna, known everywhere on the Internet as "Champuru." I was born and raised in Hawaii. I'm a Christian. I'm married to my best friend of 18 years, we struggled with infertility and successfully conceived via IVF (and by the grace of God!) in 2008. I resigned from my coveted "secure" government job to be a work-at-home mom to my 3-year-old daughter. Using my degree in Information Technology and the skills obtained in the marketplace, I started my own business. Now, I work from home, taking clients on a part-time basis, working in my PJ's while the little one sleeps. Life isn't always easy, but it's all good.
