Brie at briemarie.net turned me on to a great online album/visual bookmarking site called weheartit.com. It’s a place where you collect interesting Internet finds in “your heart:” things that inspire, define, or amuse you. Curious? Here’s My Heart. Brie created a fun meme called we ♥ wednesday. Honestly, I’m not big on memes, but this one sounded fun, so I’m going to give it a go. I realize it’s not Wednesday yet, but I’d like to be early for once. I am on chronic MommyTime and I am usually 15 minutes late for everything, so here’s my chance to be ahead of the game for a change.

The purpose of we ♥ wednesday is to share what you heart. Here are a few to start:

I ♥ Japan, Japanese culture, and the beauty of a young maiko (geisha in training)
dressed to the nines and strutting her stuff (with elegance, of course!) around Kyoto.

I ♥ okonomiyaki! I could eat it every. single. day.
Although I can get okonomiyaki right here in Hawaii
(ahhhh, Chibo, I ♥♥♥ you!), there is nothing like having
okonomiyaki or monja in Japan.

I ♥ Okinawa! Okinawa is my culture and my passion.

This is a photo taken by my friend Myron of the dynamic Okinawan performing arts group,
Hanayakara when they came to Hawaii to perform at the Okinawan Festival in 2007.)

I ♥ chubby, wrinkly babies. And adorable wrinkly dogs, too.
Actually, babies and dogs in general have a special place in my ♥.

What do you ♥?

You’re so passionate about your culture! I love that! I wish more Americans held onto our traditions and values. We’re defecating on them. =/

I’m picking up a book called Memoirs of a Geisha this week. I gather you’ve read?

Maui! I heart Maui and living on Maui.

(of course it’s a given that Maui comes after God, Husband, and Kids, right? Maui is my response to this Meme)

Hmmm, I think I’d create a post on this and link up too :)

    Aloha Donna (a.k.a. Champuru)

I don’t mind you blogging my photo but I would appreciate it if you could link to the original: http://www.flickr.com/photos/michaelchandler/4438327142/

    Kind regards,

    • Donna says:

Hi Momoyama, my apologies! I have included the link right away. I am usually very good about providing a link back to the source, but since this was over a year ago, I am not sure why the original image URL was not available to me. At any rate, thank you for bringing it to my attention and I have corrected it. :)
