Baby Champuru is proficient at drinking out of a straw cup now (hooray!), but still refuses to drink milk from anything that isn’t outfitted with a nipple. Quite frankly, that concerns me. It has been 12 days since she drank from a bottle, which means it’s been 12 days since she drank a good amount of milk. (At the time of her transition, she would drink anywhere from 24-32 oz. of milk a day. I know that’s actually too much for her age, though.) As I mentioned in my previous entry, she is still nursing 3 times a day, but I have no idea how much milk she gets from that.
Any suggestions on how to get Baby Champuru to drink milk again?

Ha! Unfortunately, the only suggestion for encouraging milk is a huge piece of chocolate cake! Well, that’s the first thing that came to my mind anyway! But SO glad to see she is mastering a straw and looks quite incredibly cute and proud of that!

Can you substitute other dairy for the missing milk? Like yogurt? Baby C might like the ones with the fruit. Will she eat cheese? My brother’s kids loved string cheese.

This may not be something you would like to try but when my youngest sister was born (half sister), she too would not drink milk from anything but a bottle. We got creative and added a little bit of chocolate. That was the trick! She would drink milk from anything, as long as it was chocolate. When she got used to using other cups/containers for milk she didn’t need the chocolate anymore. Just a suggestion!
