Who is Champuru?

Aloha, I'm Donna, known everywhere on the Internet as "Champuru." I'm a Christian, blissfully wedded to my perfect match (the yang to my yin) of 15 years and a stay-at-home mom to my miracle baby, born in October 2008. Routine

Someone recently asked me about our routine.  Most days, Baby Champuru’s schedule is like clockwork.  Here’s how a normal day looks:

3:30 am – Baby Champuru wakes up. I get her from the “crib” and bring her into the bed and nurse her. We both fall asleep until the sun rises.

6:00 am – Baby Champuru awakens, nurses for about 15-20 minutes, then decides it’s time to start the day. She crawls off the bed and starts playing with her toys – or Daddy, if he’s available.

6:30 – 6:45 am - I drag my tired butt out of bed and make Baby Champuru breakfast.

7:30 am - Breakfast time is over, playtime begins.

9:00 am - Naptime (1 – 1-1/2 hours)

10:00 – 10:30 am – Baby Champuru wakes up. It’s playtime again!

12:00 pm - Lunch is served.

2:00 pm - Naptime (1-1/2 to 2 hours)

3:30 – 4:30 pm – Baby Champuru wakes up. Did somebody say playtime?

6:00 pm – Dinner

6:30 pm - Bathtime

6:45 pm - Storytime, nursing, and sleep (around 7:30 – 8:00 pm)

Of course, there are diaper changes and snacks thrown in there, too. It’s a pretty good system when Baby Champuru is cooperative and on-schedule.  I’m hoping that she’ll stay on this schedule for a while, but I’ve heard that many babies give up a nap when they’re around 14 months old.  That’ll throw a kink into my schedule for sure.  Those naps give me time to recharge and catch up on things like laundry, housework, cooking, bill paying, e-mail, etc. When that happens I’ll need to figure out a way to clone myself so my double can do all of the mundane domestic stuff and I can spend time with Baby Champuru while she’s still a baby and enjoys my company.
