You may notice that I added a section entitled Event Planning Ideas (see top menu bar). In this section, I’ll be sharing some of the things I learned as a result of the research I did for Baby Champuru’s birthday party. I’m still organizing my thoughts, so I don’t have anything published there yet — but in the meantime, there are some ideas for Christmas Party games, so if you’re planning for your office Christmas party, check it out.

Despite having a beautiful pool, jacuzzi, BBQ, and covered lanai funded by our (exorbitant) monthly maintenance fees, we rarely take advantage of it except for the occasional family get-together. Shortly before Baby Champuru’s first birthday, we hosted a party at our pool, so we thought it would be the perfect time to introduce Baby Champuru to the water.
We purchased this baby float canopy just for the occasion. The canopy provides UV protection and it’s a perfect way for baby to get in the water and relax with her very own shade. Of course, it’s still important to apply sunscreen to protect your baby’s delicate skin. After being in the water for only about 20 minutes under the UV shade and with sunscreen slathered all over her, she got a slight tan. (Thankfully, not a sunburn.)
She really seemed to enjoy herself in the pool, so we’ll be taking her out for more swims in the future. She’ll likely learn to swim before I do.
