Who is Champuru?

Aloha, I'm Donna, known everywhere on the Internet as "Champuru." I'm a Christian, blissfully wedded to my perfect match (the yang to my yin) of 15 years and a stay-at-home mom to my miracle baby, born in October 2008. The “cake smash” that didn’t

We had a great time at Baby Champuru’s photo shoot today with Lisa Hoang of Windwardskies Photography. The highlight of today’s shoot was the “cake smash,” when we dressed Baby Champuru in the most darling tutu and let her dig in to a cupcake. To my surprise, there wasn’t any “digging in” or even much nibbling – just a lot of poking and prodding of the frosting. She licked her fingers and played with the sprinkles on top, but didn’t get much of the sweet stuff in her mouth. All that worrying about baking a “healthy” cake was for naught, because I would be surprised if she even ingested a half-teaspoon full of frosting. She just didn’t seem all that interested in eating it – she just wanted to study it and touch it with her fingertips.

Nevertheless, I’m sure Lisa got a few cute shots of her with frosting on her fingers, even though Baby Champuru was so dainty about tasting her very first cupcake. I’m looking forward to seeing the shots from the session!  Thanks, Lisa!
