Who is Champuru?

Aloha, I'm Donna, known everywhere on the Internet as "Champuru." I'm a Christian, blissfully wedded to my perfect match (the yang to my yin) of 15 years and a stay-at-home mom to my miracle baby, born in October 2008. Living life in Hawaii, less than 5 miles from my hometown, seeking balance in her pursuit of family, faith, recreation, and rest. Read more on the About page.

Poop Happens

When poop happens and a changing table is not available, you get creative.

Today was my first experience changing Baby Champuru in the trunk of my car.  I’m sure it was a spectacle, but I was too busy to notice whether anyone was peering at us with raised eyebrows and clucking tongues.  Baby was amazingly good, staying perfectly still the entire time, most likely because she was curious about the strange environment.  I feared that she might try to sit up suddenly and give herself a concussion on the inside of the trunk, but thankfully she endured her unorthodox diaper change with the utmost patience.

Now, when I sell my car, I can say that it comes equipped with a mobile diaper changing station and I wouldn’t be lying.

Yep, you gotta do what you gotta do… we’ve changed Chris so many times in the trunk or the backseat. Or we’ve had to stop at the rest stops and just changed him at the picnic tables (going into the bathrooms there are horrible). You do get immune to everything going on around you though I’m sure many other parents have found themselves in the same situation.

BTW, how is your mom doing? I’ve had her in my thoughts.

  • Hehe, if baby needs to be changed, baby needs to be changed! I’ve changed TLE on the bed of our pick up truck on countless occasions when she was tiny. Not the most ideal of places but if it works, it works.

Yep! Agree with Joy and Michelle! You gotta do what you gotta do! I’ve done the same too.
