Sauteéd Garlic Asparagus

Since asparagus was on the menu for baby this week, I thought it would only be appropriate to add a little asparagus goodness to the Big People’s diet as well.  Here’s my simple 10 minute recipe for sauteéd garlic asparagus.

Asparagus

Ingredients:
2 Tbsp. olive oil (or enough to coat the asparagus and the bottom of the skillet)
Minced garlic
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Wash and snap off the woody ends of the asparagus by bending the stalk at the natural breaking point (usually about 1-2″ from the base).  Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.  Add the garlic and asparagus and sauteé for 5 minutes (or until desired tenderness is achieved), tossing occasionally.  Add salt and pepper to taste, then serve.

Optional: Sprinkle some fresh grated Parmesan cheese on top. Yum!
