On May 29, Baby Champuru (7 months and 3 weeks) started waving bye-bye to my mom. For some reason, she will only do it for her Baba – but seeing her interacting on this new level is so exciting! Another fun development is that baby will raise her arms and dance (Okinawan kachashi). This is something that we’ve been trying to teach her to do ever since birth, so it’s so great to see her copying our motions. I hope to catch these new milestones on video, but she tends to look more like a deer in headlights once the video camera comes out.
Baby Champuru will be turning 8 months on June 4, so I’ll be doing another progress report on her “birthday.”
