Who is Champuru?

Aloha, I'm Donna, known everywhere on the Internet as "Champuru." I'm a Christian, blissfully wedded to my perfect match (the yang to my yin) of 16 years and a stay-at-home mom to my miracle baby, born in October 2008. Living life in Hawaii, less than 5 miles from my hometown, seeking balance in my pursuit of family, faith, recreation, and rest. Read more on the About page.

Bon Dance Season Begins

2008-obon

Bon dance season is upon us again and this year’s schedule for Oahu, Hawaii is available for downloading here.

As you can see, I am wearing my “hapai” (pregnant) t-shirt in this photo from last year’s bon dance.  Logistically speaking, it was easier to do bon dances with Baby Champuru still in utero, so we’ll see how things pan out this year.

If you’re in Hawaii, I hope you’ll be able to make it out to at least one of these wonderful cultural events this summer.

    Donna,

Mahalo for the complete state bon dance schedule. Last nite, a friend of ours inquired where he could get a complete state schedule and we remembered seeing it on Champuru.net

*I hope you can find time to enjoy bon dancing with your daughter at Mililani Hongwanji one year, maybe.

**Jiji looks familiar – he lives in Mililani?

    Ippei Nihei Debiru !
