Ford Island Bridge Run
Mahealani, the great fitness instigator, has rounded up the walking posse for another walk/run event. This time, it is the Ford Island Bridge Run on April 4, 2009.
I have to be honest. My fitness routine has been a big, fat zero lately. (Emphasis on fat.) I blame the cold/rainy wintry weather for keeping me sequestered indoors. The prospect of participating in a 10k (6.2 mile) walk in exactly one month may just be the thing to get me off my butt. Not to mention Mahealani has advised me that our goal is the “15-minute mile.”
Hubby has agreed to be Mr. Mom that morning while I participate in the event. After all, how often do you get an opportunity to walk across the Admiral Bernard Clarey Bridge and around Ford Island?

Who is Champuru?
Aloha, I'm Donna, known everywhere on the Internet as "Champuru." I was born and raised in Hawaii. I'm a Christian. I'm married to my best friend of 18 years, we struggled with infertility and successfully conceived via IVF (and by the grace of God!) in 2008. I resigned from my coveted "secure" government job to be a work-at-home mom to my 3-year-old daughter. Using my degree in Information Technology and the skills obtained in the marketplace, I started my own business. Now, I work from home, taking clients on a part-time basis, working in my PJ's while the little one sleeps. Life isn't always easy, but it's all good.

I’ve never done this race before and I’m looking forward to it! Hope to see you there.
I ends up that I won’t be able to make the race after all.
Hubby’s schedule got changed, so now I don’t have childcare for that morning. Oh well, there’s always next year! By then baby will be old enough to go in a stroller.
too bad you missed today, it was a beautiful run. I too just started this outdoor exercise thing in beautiful Hawaii nei. Nice to see a fellow local Okinawan stay-at-home mom in the the new mix of run/walks. Catch you next year!
