Nesting in the Nursery

Today was an exciting day in the Champuru household, with the delivery of the Baby Champuru’s furniture from Baby Emporium! Baby’s room is starting to look more like a nursery and less like a storage closet and I’m very pleased about that. Now that the changing table/dresser has arrived, I have some much needed drawer space to store items like diapers, blankets, and baby clothes.

The crib probably will not be used for a while as Baby Champuru will be sleeping in our bedroom in the co-sleeper during her first few months of life. This will make it easier for frequent feedings and also to keep an eye on her from a comfortable vantage point — my bed. Believe me though, I do intend to get Baby Champuru sleeping in her crib as soon as possible and will not be allowing her to sleep in our bed. I’m too paranoid about rolling over her and smothering her in my sleep.

The door to the nursery is our Baby Command Center. Written on the white board are important phone numbers, reminders, and To-Do items. The calendar counts down to her due date and reminds us of doctor’s appointments and other events.

Now that the furniture has arrived, I feel like I can really start organizing things and putting them in place. Once that’s done, I’ll feel more settled and ready for her arrival. Until then, I have lots of nesting left to do!
