Taming my sweet tooth to deal with gestational diabetes has not been easy, but it seems that there are some diabetic-friendly options available if you look hard enough. Baldwin’s Sweet Shop seems like an unlikely place for low glycemic fare, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a small selection of diabetic-friendly syrups in standard shave ice flavors. (Unfortunately, no li hing and cola flavors for me. I opted for the strawberry and vanilla instead.) They even had “no sugar added” ice cream to go with my azuki beans at the bottom of my shave ice cup. Score!
