Hang in there, Donna!

Every pregnancy is different but, in my humble experience of 4 surprise gifts from the Universe, the nausea and weight loss (very common) usually pass after about the 1st trimester. Sips of strong ginger, like Reed's Ginger Ale, helped me enormously. Like others have suggested, small meals are the way to go. I used to tell myself that it's just like getting those sore muscles when you first start going to the gym or training for an event, just part of the growth process--except this is the biggest, happiest event ever!

I'm so happy for you and your hubby!!!

Ginseng is reported to help with the morning sickness. My sister swore by the seasickness wrist bands. Tiny "meals" throughout the day are supposed to help with "evening" morning sickness...dry puffed rice cereal or something similar is good for snacking and keeps the fiber going.

As for the losing weight....ehh...that's just nature's way of making up for what she is about to do to your body for the next 8 months or so!

Hang in there, sweetie! You're going to be just fine!

Hey Donna, not my own experience (of course) but several other friends of mine also lost weight during the morning sickness phase of their pregnancies. Keep hydrated and you may want to mention it at your check up *smile*

hey girl! I remember those times. What helped me:
-poi
-boiled sweet potatoes (purple kind; no seasoning whatsoever)
-plain brown rice
-stay away from citrus for a while, if you can. Find bland, complex starches.
-warm water
-spirilina tablets (you know, deep sea limu; 'posed to be good for ya)

Hey, someone may as well use the 800 hours of sick time. I've called in sick twice in 12 plus years at Kaiser. 800 is the max. the rest just never accrues.

I've also over the years given away 24 hours of vacation time to folks who were out sick due to cancer, preterm pregnancy, or an ill family member. I have like 250 hours of that too.
