7 weeks
Oh, my gosh. I took a 3-hour nap this afternoon. I wonder if it’ll hamper my ability to fall asleep tonight. Probably not. I’m yawning already.
The doc reduced my progesterone injections from 3 cc to 2-1/2 cc this past Saturday and I already feel a slight difference. My butt isn’t as swollen as before. It’s not as painful. Next week, which marks my 8th week, I get to decrease it to 2 cc. Even better! Then, as long as my progesterone levels are in the range, just four more weeks of injections after that. It’s hard to imagine life without daily injections.
Tonight, I discovered that the scent of curry has become quite repulsive to me. Hubby was eating some leftover chicken katsu curry as a late night snack and I had to leave the room. I’m running the fan and I’ve got the Sharper Image ionic breeze air purifier on high in that room at this moment.
For the past few days, I’ve been hankering for nachos and Hostess cupcakes. I wouldn’t call it an all-out craving, but it’s been on the brain lately. Those two items are now stocked in the champuru pantry, just in case. I haven’t indulged in the cupcakes yet, but the nachos were a late afternoon snack for today.
So, that’s the latest.

In addition to saltines, ginger candy, and gatorade next to my bed, I had a huge bottle of Febreeze…as everything upset my olfactory senses! It got worse by the day. According to my doctor, women who go through fertility programs tend to suffer from heightened morning sickness (I called it 24/7 sickness) because of all the extra hormones and such. I pray you’re not one of them as it was not fun!
I am thoroughly enjoying watching your journey unfold. It’s so exciting!
Aloha,
Kalei
I never had the repulsion of smells but rather I did not feel like eating. I was not hungry at all! I did have cravings, but unfortunately I did not have the luxury of going out to get certain types of foods where I live. My nose became super sensitive to all kinds of smells though. My husband called it the “super nose” and I could smell things he could not. I am so happy to hear your pregnancy is starting off fabulous! Can’t wait to see how the next 9 months go!
I remember when I was pregnant….oh wait, I was never pregnant! I just wanted to feel I had something significant to add here other than WOW I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU ARE FINALLY POSTING IN THE PREGNANCY TOPIC!
ooh, i remember that feeling. Fried rice and almost anything asian-y did it for me the first trimester. Just the thought of those foods were disgusting. G joked we were having a haole baby. I never had cravings…just like you certain foods would just be on the brain…so i’d just make sure i went and got some. hehe. wish i could still do that and have a valid excuse. mmm..eggrolls. =P
(ps. yay for the reduction in progesterone and a less sore booty! heehee_
Following your journey brings back fond memories. ‘Course i was on the other side watching and being on the receiving end of the hormonal swings. Ooo ooo, better not think of some of them, but really they were blessed times and I ‘m wishing you and hubby the same. Thank you for letting us live them again through your journal.
BTW, I’m due to be a grandfather again in late July or so and a great uncle in the spring. Wow, hadn’t thought of that before now. I wonder what else I haven’t got wedged in to my thought process. I better go take a nap in honor of all those who need one.
Ya all come back now,
Gary
Oh, the smell aversions! I remember everything made me queasy and smelled icky. I think I considered bathing my dog in Febreeze at one time.
you’ll find that once a food item is on your mind …it won’t leave until you eat it! those commercials on tv are very influential !!!
your sense of smell will be magnified too ….OMG ! I remember being so hungry when mom in law would make dinner and after I ate it, I didn’t want to smell it …I had the aerosol sprays handy all the time !!
welcome to pregnancy …you made me smile !
