A few years ago, I had the crazy ambition to jump on the NaNoWriMo bandwagon and attempt to write a 50,000 word (175 page) novel in 30 days. Impossible you say? For me, it certainly was. While I dropped out about midway through the effort, there were hundreds of people who persevered and accomplished the momentous undertaking.
This year, I discovered NaBloPoMo. Post everyday in the month of November. No word counts, just make sure you post 30 days in a row, and no back-dating allowed. Maybe, just maybe, I can achieve this goal. My only problem is finding 30 straight days of engaging content. Now there’s the challenge. I’m sure posting a picture of myself everyday on my blog in November would meet the criteria, but my intent is not to lose my entire readership in a single month, after all. However, I’m warning you ahead of time: if you see a picture of my ugly mug posted on any given day, you’ll know that I had succumbed to writer’s block.
Are you NaBloPoMo’ing this year? So far, I’ve seen Yambiguity and Roxanne Darling’s Beachwalks.tv. No blog yet? Perhaps now is the time to start one — and get blogging!
Thus begins day #1 of NaBloPoMo.
