Essential Oil Reed Diffuser

We picked up an essential oil reed diffuser today at Borders ($19.99 USD) and I totally love it! So much so that I’ve been scouring the Internet for instructions on how to make this myself. So far, I’ve only come across one website that is very specific on the proportions for oils and ingredients to use. I may use this as a launching point, but I was wondering if anyone else knows of other sites that provide instructions on DIY projects like this using essential oils and herbs? I think it’s a much safer alternative to harsh chemicals and if I can make it myself it’ll be cheaper than buying it ready-made at retail.

    Donna,

Did you look at this one?

Doesn’t have a lot of info either, this is totally new to me, BUT I suspect it’s the kind of thing SF would know about, so when I can reach her, I’ll ask…

check out lotioncrafter carries most of the supplies for diy reed diffusers. they’re very simple to make – the ipm is used to dilute the fragrance oil, pop in the reeds and enjoy!

you can find excellent fragrance oil blends at oregon trail soap. they also stock essential oils if you want to become a kitchen alchemist and create your own blend.

both of the suppliers are located on the west coast so shipping to hawaii shouldn’t be too outrageous.

also, save some money and go to pier1 or a local craft store to pick up an inexpensive vase.

    hth!
