Obon Season

Mililani Hongwanji Obon

Summer months in Hawaii means it’s time for obon season. Bon dances are tightly scheduled every weekend from the first weekend in June through mid-September.

For quick reference, I have a Bon Dance Schedule page posted with the 2007 schedule and links to my photo galleries featuring pictures from previous obon seasons.

Would you like a tshirt that say “Let’s Bon Dance.” Let me know and I can get one for you.

Can you make it to the Honpa bon dance on 6/30? My wife will be dancing while I’ll be snapping pictures. And eating :^)

I’ve gone to Honpa for the bon dance with the gang from work. It’s a big one.

pehea’oe: How cute! I’d love a “Let’s bon dance” t-shirt! Let me know where I can send you the check for the shirt and the shipping! I’m a medium. :) Thanks!

Rod: I’ve never been to the Honpa Hongwanji bon dance. I think we’ll put it on our schedule for this year. I’ll let you know as the date draws closer, but as long as nothing comes up, I’ll make plans to be there. Would be great to see you again!

Ryan S: Bring the gang and join us!
