I am so spoiled
Happy birthday to me!
Okay, it’s not my birthday until the 6th, but Hubby purchased my present at the Apple store tonight. A 20″ iMac with a 1GB RAM upgrade. Unfortunately, they didn’t have it in stock, so it’s on order. The estimated delivery date is September 19. Oh, the anticipation! I will be waiting with bated breath.
Before taking the plunge, I phoned Derek to get his feedback on whether he felt the iMac would be a good purchase for me. After picking his brain for about 10 minutes, I talked it over with the Hubs and sealed the deal.
I am officially the newest convert to the cult of Mac. Oh, my. I may never leave the house.

You know why your order is delayed? You’re probably getting one of the new Core Duo 2 models that are supposed to debut on Sept. 12.
Lucky for you that the apple store didn’t have any in stock, or you’d have some remorse once the new ones came out.

ah, i was *just* about to email you what bruce said - hopefully you’ll be getting an upgraded iMac w/CoreDuo 2! i am planning to get one in the next few weeks, we’ll be new iMac moms!

You now have two choices, get a price adjustment on the 20 inch model, or pay a little more for the 24 inch one.
If it were me, I’d go for the 24 inch model

Happy birthday, and welcome to the club! I returned to the Mac fold after years in Windows land just last year. Now we’re the proud owners of an iMac G5 (pre-Intel), MacBook, Mac mini (kids’ machine), and Mac G4 tower. It’s just bliss!
