1st Day
Yesterday marked my first day on the job. As expected, it was all quite overwhelming and I’m still reeling from all of the information that got crammed into my little brain.
Last night, after being at the office FAR too long, I had dreams of working in my old IT job. Only one day away from the old gang and I’m already having withdrawals. Perhaps it’s the growing pains of moving out of my comfort zone. I’m praying that I will grow into my new position and thrive.
I am really in need of a growth spurt — and now.

…praying with you! hang in there! =) new beginnings can be tough - it can only get better, right???
good luck and best of wishes on your new job
hang in there D! there’s always an adjustment period that makes you wish you were back into your old comfortable position. you’ll be in the swing of your own routine in no time.
The first week or so in a new role is always the most stressful. I’m sure you’ll hit your stride soon!
Don’t get frustrated and keep your spirit up. Having switched jobs more times than I can count on one hand, I can tell you from experience; the adjustment period can be tough on you because you know what you’re capable of producing, but until you know the environment, you won’t be able to produce 100%.
But that’s expected. That’s why there is a probation period - to allow you to familiarize yourself and get into the groove.
So, don’t get frustrated Donna. Don’t get down on yourself. Keep your chin up, absorb everything around you and get to know the environment. Recognize the personality of the office and fit into it. You’ll be okay.
congratulations on the new job. i hope it turns out to be a great moved for you.
