3 things

Published by Donna at 11:18 am under daily

Petteythoughts tagged me with this neat little meme. I think I may have done something similar in the past, but that was probably a year or two ago — and of course, my responses will be different because of the timeframe concerned. As always, it’s always fun to take a walk down memory lane and see what interesting memories can be dredged up from the archives.

I would really be interested to read what your “3 Things” are. If you choose to do your own list, please drop a link to your blog in my comments. Or if you don’t have a blog/website of your own, feel free to respond with your list right here!

20 Years Ago: (1985 - I was 12)
-Moved to Mililani and started attending Wheeler Intermediate.
-Got braces to fix my overbite.
-Accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour.

15 Years Ago: (1990 - I was 17)
-I was a junior in high school.
-Worked at the local McDonald’s with a few of my friends. Wade and I were the best darned drive-thru team in history! :-p

-Dated my “first love” and subsequently had my first real heartbreak.

10 Years Ago: (1995 - I was 22)
-I had been married for 2 years.
-Worked from home (telecommuting!) as a Sysop for a BBS/ISP.
-Served as the Junior High Ministry Director at my church.

5 Years Ago: (2000 - I was 27)
-Wondered if Y2K was going to mean the end of the world as we knew it, but kinda figured that it wouldn’t.
-Started working in the Information Technology department at my present company.
-Began blogging.

3 Years Ago: (2002 - I was 29)
-Flexed my entrepreneurial muscles and obtained some clients. (Thus reducing my free time down to zero.)
-Had thoughts of actually making money at a craft fair selling handmade wares. (We made none.)
-Did a great deal of traveling for business. (I made several trips to each of the major Hawaiian islands: Hawaii, Maui, Kauai, and Molokai and even got to visit Kalaupapa.)

Last Year: (2004 - I was 31)
-Spent a year separated from Hubby who had been deployed to Iraq (OIF2).
-Maintained my busy schedule: working full-time, maintaining clients and going to school full-time.
-Started exercising like crazy.

This Year: (2005 - I am 31 [for now])
-Welcomed Hubby home from Iraq.
-Took my third trip to Guam (for business) and a 2-week stopover in Japan. Saw snow for the first time in my life.
-Hubby and I purchased our first home. (Praise God!)

Yesterday:
-Woke up late. Woke up tired.
-Went to a wedding reception.
-Watched “Swing Girls” (a Japanese film) with Hubby while eating microwave popcorn and drinking Mountain Dew.

Last Night:
-Worked on my term paper on capital punishment for my Criminal Justice class with Acoustic Alchemy on iTunes in the background.
-Did the laundry.
-Went to sleep at 10:45 pm.

Today:
-Managed to get up in time for the 8:00 am service at church.
-Meeting Joyce for lunch.
-Work on my term paper.

Tomorrow:
-Fight traffic going and coming.
-Work.
-Finish my term paper.

Next Year:
-I will be graduating with my IT degree. (I hope!)
-Hubby and I will be working on starting a family.
-Depending on whether they renew my contract, I may be pounding the pavement for a new job.

5-10 Years From Now:
-Enjoying married life.
-Raising a happy, healthy child.
-Working from home, doing my own business and making a decent living (freelance photography, writing, desktop publishing, video slideshows?)
