Day #11,647
“Teach me to number my days, that I may gain a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12)
Lately, I have been realizing how fleeting our time on earth can be. In the blink of an eye, weeks, months, years have passed and I barely even noticed.
Another translation states it this way: “Teach us to use wisely all the time we have.”
It prompted me to ask myself: have I been using my time wisely? 11,647 days. How many of them are simply forgotten memories? How many of life’s lessons were learned, only to have fallen by the wayside in the busyness of the day, thus requiring a refresher course at some point in the future?
It was then that I decided to number my days. Memorialize “moments” — big and small. Jot details that seem insignificant now, but may lend insight when looking with hindsight.
Our days are numbered. May we use every moment wisely.

Beautiful! You’re giving me the redesign itch
It’s very sombering to realize the number of days that have passed. I used to live through them as quickly as possible to get to the weekends and try to cram all my living into 2 days out of 7.
Now, while there are hours I wish would fly, I am trying to hold on to all the fleeting moments I can. Remembered joy is precious.
