Summer Rain

There is something strangely wonderful about walking hand-in-hand through a summer drizzle with the one you love.

Hubby and I decided to go for a walk around the neighborhood when I got home from work this afternoon. The clouds threatened rain, but we ventured out in spite of it. When the skies opened up and warm raindrops pattered on our heads, it did not dampen our mood or send us running for the nearest shelter. Instead, we continued our walk as I turned my face skyward, savoring the wonderful feeling of the rain on my skin.

My heart felt giddy as I tightened my grip around Hubby’s hand and put an extra skip in my step. The past few days I have been moping around with the proverbial raincloud hovering over my head like Eeyore. It’s funny that today actual rainclouds would have just the opposite effect on me.
