Midweek Ramble
I have basically been spending almost zero time on the computer these days. Amazingly enough, I don’t miss it all that much.
Those who know me well have probably fainted after reading that statement. *getting out the smelling salts*
Being so involved in the purchase of our home and the subsequent move, it left me with very little time to devote to such things as aimless hours of web surfing and the like. As a result, it appears that the addiction has been broken. This is the first time I actually felt slightly inspired enough to jot an entry in a while.
Truth be told, I still don’t have as much downtime as I would like — but the little moments of relaxation just before bed are now spent lounging and reading. And I don’t mean reading blogs and online newspapers. I mean actual books with pages that I can turn with my fingers. Now, how quaint is that?
I’m sure this will all change when I enroll myself back in school to finish up the last remaining classes for my degree. Lounging and recreational reading will soon be a distant memory. *groan* Yes, I’m still not done with school. I would have been finished by now except I decided to take a hiatus to concentrate on the life-changing events of the past few months: Hubby’s homecoming from his 1-year deployment to Iraq, dealing with my Mom’s illness, searching for and buying our first home, and moving.
Now that things are starting to settle down a bit, I feel that I can throw myself back into the rigors of school — although I wish I didn’t have to. I’m so incredibly tired of being a full-time student while holding down a full-time job. Just the mere thought of going back makes me exhausted.
Shouldn’t I have gotten my second wind by now? The finish line is in sight. Quitting this late in the race is not an option.
At the very least, the travails of school can very well serve as inspiration for some pretty good rants for the blog. That would mean more updates. ![]()
